Bolla village is located on the Balurghat-Malda highway, 20 km from Balurghat town. The village has a historic temple from the British era, where devotees worship Goddess Kali, a form of Goddess Durga. The story behind the temple says that a zamindar was arrested by the British as he was unable to pay his landlord's taxes. Goddess Kali came to his aid and the zamindar was released the very next day. As a token of gratitude, he built a temple of Goddess Kali and started worshipping her.
The main Kali Puja is held every Friday after the day of Rasa Purnima. A large number of devotees from different parts of South Dinajpur district gather at the temple during the puja and offer prayers. A three-day fair is organized by the Puja committee on this occasion.
