Chilapata forest is the main corridor used by elephants to travel between Jaldapara and Buxa Tiger Reserve. It is a dense forest close to the Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary in Dooars. By Air: You must first come to Bagdogra airport, and then you can hire a car to take you to Chilapata. Distance from Bagdogra to Chilapata - 138 km. (Approx. 3hour drive)
By Rail: The easiest way is to board a train upto New Alipurduar Station (NOQ) from where it is only an hour's drive to Chilapata wildlife sanctuary. Distance from Alipurduar to Chilapata - 28 km.
By Road: You can choose National Highway 31 to reach Chilapata if you're driving your car..
